This bold, provocative film brings to light the injustice of sexual slavery that’s happening in American cities, right now.

The topic is raw, but it’s real. And it doesn’t stop at the border. Vancouver is home to an estimated 1,000 trade workers. The average age of entry is 14. The average life expectancy is 40.

Sexual slavery happens in our own city. We might brush it off and say that Vancouver’s sex workers are there by choice or their own poor decisions, but in fact all prostitution is slavery—slavery to pimps, to addictions and to the multi-million dollar industry that keeps perpetuating this injustice.

This signature event brings together leaders in our community who want to see change and support the city’s most vulnerable women. Proceeds will support UGM’s emerging women’s and children’s shelter in the Downtown Eastside.
